Amamoor Rest Area
Enjoy free camping just 200 metres down the road from the Amamoor General Store. Public toilets are available at the other end of the street. No power or water available on site.
Cedar Grove
Cedar Grove offers unpowered camp sites as well as onsite toilets and cold showers. Cedar Grove also offers a nice swimming hole for campers or visitors. Just 10km down the road from the Amamoor township it is easily accessible by all vehicles.
Amamoor State Forest
Amamoor State Forest offers nice quiet unpowered camp sites with toilets available. This is the only camping area in Amamoor that allows you to bring your dog with you. The state forest is about 15km out from Amamoor and is usually accessible with all vehicles providing that the rain has been kind.
Platypus Walk
300m Return
The path follows the creek to a viewing platform. Watch the water surface—you may be lucky enough to see platypus.
Amama Walk
1.5km Return
Explore lush rainforest with buttressed trees, vines, ferns and mossy rocks. Along the rainforest-lined creek, look for the teardrop-shaped birds' nests which overhang the creek.
Cedar Grove Rainorest Walk
1km Return
A large swimming hole and sub-tropical rainforest featuring large red cedars, figs and a piccabeen palm grove are found here. Along the creek are tall forest oaks.
Cedar Grove Hiking Trail
4.6km Return
A hiking trail branches off the rainforest walk and through open forest and hoop pine plantations. The track crosses Amamoor Creek and returns to the camping area.
Amamoor Creek Hiking Trail
2.5km Return
The track meanders through open, eucalypt forest and through forest with an interesting mix of rainforest plants that grow in drier areas on poor quality soils.
The Amamoor lookout is located on Dagun-Amamoor Rd and is about 1km from the town of Amamoor.
Head out to the Amamoor State Forest and have some fun with your trail bike or 4WD.
